A Practical ESS Architecture Checklist
Before selecting a battery cabinet, inverter or PCS, define the system architecture around the application and interfaces.
Electrical side
Confirm nominal voltage, maximum current, power level, grid connection, solar input, protection concept and whether the project is AC-coupled or DC-coupled.
Control and communications
Define BMS, PCS or inverter communication, EMS requirements, monitoring, remote access and any required third-party protocols.
Environment and compliance
Installation location, temperature range, ingress protection, thermal management, fire protection and market-specific certification requirements should be confirmed before final selection.
